Sultry Eyes : Tutorial

Last week, my cousin sent me a photo and asked me if I thought that I could do a tutorial on it, so I decided it was a good time to dive in and try my hand at a request. The eye makeup in the photo (which I will show you after the jump), is very shimmery and very multidimensional. When I looked closely at the eyes, I could see a lot of different shades at work, so I'm going to warn you right now, that I used a lot of products to get this look. I used mostly high end products, but you can definitely do this look using drugstore makeup; I just used what I had available. Without further ado, hit the jump to see how to get this look.

 If you've been following this blog over the past month, then you would have seen it written here that I have a huge love/hate relationship with lip gloss. I love lip products in general, but I absolutely hate gloss 90% of the time. There are certain glosses that I love, which I will mention here, but most of the time, I wear something tinted, mildly sheer, and with a bit of shine. Contouring; I first found out about this idea when I was in elementary school and obsessed over the books by Kevyn Aucoin (look. these. up.). He broke down how to do contouring on your face and what products to use and made it very easy to understand. Unfortunately, I think that contouring has become better known because of the Kardashians and like most things that they get involved with, it's gotten a bad reputation. The Kardashians really take contouring to the next level and wear photoshoot contouring in their everyday lives. Face of the Day : February 1

Occasionally, and not very often, I will wake up and a makeup idea will come into my head and I have to execute it that day. This morning, I woke up with the color pink in my head and thought it would be fun to play with pink shadows. The color pink is often hard to wear around the eyes because it gives a really sickly appearance if the shade isn't right. I chose to go bold and just do pink all over.
