Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner : Product Review

If you follow me on Facebook, then you have probably seen the 800 posts I've made about the huge Stila order that I put in a few weeks ago. The order arrived last week and while that probably seems to early to be doing an accurate product review, I just couldn't wait to get one thrown out there for this liner. As most of you know, I'm kind of a liquid liner fiend; I rarely wear other kinds, almost always liquid. My favorite liquid liner is the Maybelline Line Stiletto, but I'm always open to trying out different kinds. Keep reading to find out what I think about this one...

L'Oréal Colour Careese Wet Shine Stain : Product Review

While I am on eyeball hiatus (the left one will be extremely dilated probably until tomorrow afternoon), I figure why not give you a guys a product review on my new favorite product. I guess that introducing it as such kind of gives away the fact that I like it, but seeing as how I am not a gloss fan, you should keep reading to find out why I like this very glossy looking product.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries : Tutorial

Although I feel like I've done about 18 different tutorials using pink eyeshadow, it's still not a color that I reach for very often in my day to day routine. Every time that I end up wearing it, it's a very long thought out process because I fear that I will end up making myself look very sickly. However, one of the easiest ways to make a color more wearable (that being colors that you fear) is to add brown. Brown is pretty much the great equalizer in the world of eye makeup and an easy way to make something more day friendly. Keep reading to find out how to get this look!

Bubblegum Lip Scrub : Product Review

If you recall, I did a post on red lipstick several months ago and I talked about the importance of lip exfoliating. While there are many methods to exfoliating the lips, I generally prefer sugar scrubs because they're fairly natural and it doesn't require me to buy a baby toothbrush (or use an old one) and accidentally scrub the crap out of my mouth. After using the Fresh brand scrub, I decided to branch out and try one from Lush. Keep reading to find out what I think of it.

Cheap Nose Job : Tutorial

I think that most people have some sort of issue with their nose, whether it be the length, the size, if it slopes nicely, nostril size, what have you. I have a love/hate relationship with my own nose and for the days that I absolutely hate it, I can lean on contouring to help me go back to the loving side of the relationship. For this tutorial, it may look a little severe, but I really wanted to be able to show you the difference in the looks. Keep reading for more.

Monthly Beauty Boxes : April

I'm actually following through with my promise to show you guys what I get in my monthly beauty boxes. I'm doing this because I feel like there are those of you out there that are curious about what come in these, but aren't quite ready to subscribe yet. This month, I've received Ipsy and Birchbox (I have another box coming my way, not sure how I feel about it yet), so I wanted to break these two down and show you the differences. There aren't any product reviews in this, I just want you to be able to see what comes in both types of services. Keep reading for more info!

Easy Eye Pick Me Ups : How To

There are always quick tips and tricks to freshen up your look, but people don't always explain them with visual evidence. A lot of magazines and websites will simply describe them to you because they think that the idea is simple enough that everyone should just understand it. Well, I think that's pretty dumb or maybe it's just because I'm a visual learner, but I always think that the photographic evidence helps people learn something that is, well, visual. Keep reading to see how to implement two very simple, very quick pick me ups for your eyes.

OCC Lip Tar : Product Review

More product reviews! I've gotten so much new stuff recently and I want to tell you guys all about it, but obviously I have to test the products out before I can do that. This is a very recent purchase, but I can tell you about it pretty much immediately because I've tested this certain shade numerous times and have previously owned a lip tar. To find out more about this "lip tar", keep reading.

Text post!

Hello world! If you guys actually read the text that I write on here and you don't just look at the pictures, then you should know that I'm in the middle of an eyeliner study for a cosmetics company. I really want to do some tutorials, but most of my tutorials center around an eye look, so I feel kind of stuck since I can't tell the world what I'm using for eyeliner (well, I actually don't even know the brand of it, so I couldn't tell you even if I wanted to) and I'm not allowed to use any other eyeliners until April 18th. That being said, I've thought up a few different tutorials that I can do without placing emphasis on the eyes, so those will becoming in the next few days.

In the mean time, I thought that I'd give you a little life update (in the ways of makeup, because you surely don't care about the other banal stuff). My birthday was on the seventh and as much as I thought that I would go makeup crazy, I stayed pretty calm and didn't really buy anything. Since I had bought so much the week or two before, I felt pretty well stocked. Granted, I could buy every makeup product in the world and not be satisfied, but nothing said "Buy me!".

The Sephora Chic Week sale started yesterday and I hit it up right when the mall opened to ensure that I got my little VIB tote. That samples in the tote were minimal, but I did pick up two new eye shadows that will be great for spring and I broke down and bought a new Laura Mercier foundation.

As part of my birthday gifts, I've decided to buy two books that shaped the way that I think about makeup. I read one of them when I was roughly 11 years old and for a long, long time, I wanted to be a makeup artist because of it. These books are incredibly inspiring and are very useful if you have any interest in the ideas and skill behind the art of makeup. The two books are Making Faces and Face Forward, both by Kevyn Aucoin. He describes makeup in easy to understand language, shows you before and afters, and has tons of tutorials throughout the book. I definitely recommend picking up these two books (or just one of them) if you want to further your knowledge of makeup application or if you just want to look at some beautiful makeup.

That's pretty much it. More tutorials to come in the next few days and probably a few more product reviews. I also think that I might do a tutorial on washing makeup brushes since a lot of people have asked me face to face how to do this.

Thanks for reading and your continued support!

p.s. just ONE more like on my Facebook page and the next giveaway will begin! It will be open internationally and there will be at least 4 winners. Go over and the like the page if you haven't already!

NYX Love in Paris Palette : Product Review

Another product review! It's probably going to be a week of product reviews due to the fact that I'm currently in a cosmetics study and I have to use the product (eye liner) for the next ten days and am not allowed to use any other eye liners while I'm using it. Regardless, I really wanted to show you guys this product especially after the review that I did yesterday. I really do like NYX's products, it's just that some of them, like with any other cosmetics company, are duds. This palette however is amazing! There are several palettes in the "Love in Paris" line, but this particular one is Merci Beaucoup. Keep reading for why I love it and swatches!

NYX Glam Shadow Sticks : Product Review

NYX is a brand that can be extremely hit or miss for me. If you've been reading this blog for a while, then you've seen the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil pop up on here fairly often, but for every one of their products that I love, there is a product that I dislike just as much. If you can't tell which direction this review is going, I'll just let you know right now that it's not good. Keep reading to find out why I disliked the Glam Shadow Stick so much.

False Lashes : A quick how-to

I feel a bit like I'm misleading you lovely readers by showing you one look last week using false lashes and giving you a how-to for falsies this week; I don't wear false lashes... like ever. Ok, that's not completely true, but in the year 2012, I can count on one hand how many times I wore them. It's not that there is anything wrong with false lashes, it's just that I am pretty content with my own lashes, so I don't often see the need. If I am going to wear them, they are generally going to be very extreme. Personal information behind, I know that a lot of people where false lashes because they are discontent with their own lashes and want them spruced up beyond the typical swipes of mascara. That's where this comes in. This is a very quick and easy how-to for falsies, but please keep in mind, like with any sort of beauty process, it does take time to learn how to apply false lashes. Keep reading to see how I go about this...

Simple & Easy Purple Eyes : Tutorial

One thing about this blog that I am always hoping to achieve is to show you guys looks that are simple and don't require a ton of products to recreate; 90% of the time, I want anyone and everyone to be able to recreate the look. I do plan on getting some more intensive tutorials up here, but often they will be more along the lines of everyday looks. That being said, this is a tutorials for an incredibly simple and pretty purple eye. This will be incredibly flattering if you have green or brown eyes, but it will look good on any eye color.
