Business Professional : Tutorial

Most of the looks that I post on this blog are things to wear out or, if you work in a laid back office, a daily look. However, I am more than aware that a lot of offices prefer that their female employees wear conservative makeup; I used to work in offices like that. This is a look that still lets you play with winged liner but should still be conservative enough for most offices. Keep reading to find out how to get this look!

Eyes

1) Tarte Creaseless 360 12 Hour Eye Primer
2) Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette (just the top row, from L to R: Soulmates, I do, Un-veil)
3) Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara

Face & Lips

1) Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
2) Milani Bake Blush in Luminoso
3) Glamour Doll Eyes Blush (not available to the general public yet, but it's a very traditional pink)
4) Wet N Wild To Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow
5) Jordana Easyliner in Tawny
6) Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick (Kate Moss line) in #103

Tools

1) Sephora Professionals Angled Liner Brush
2) Sephora Crease Brush
3) Missha Medium Base Brush
4) Sephora Blush Brush
5) Revlon Eyelash Curler (honestly, this is not my favorite eyelash curler, but it's currently the only one that I own)

And let's begin!

Foundation face! I'm almost through my nasty breakout from a few weeks ago, but since I'm so pale, the red spots stick around for a long time. I've been using a lot of Dermablend's Quick Fix concealer in the mean time.

Prime the lids!

Using the Missha brush, I applied Soulmates from lash line to brow line.

I took my crease brush and applied I Do into the crease and into the hollow of my socket (the area closest to the bridge of your nose) to help fake a little bit of depth.

I dipped my angled liner brush into a very small amount of water to apply Un-Veil wet as my liner. I can get away with a longer wing because of two reasons, 1) I have hooded lids, so they get a little covered up and 2) My lashes are very long and will mask the wing. If you work in a really conservative office, you can do a very small cat eye and be able to get away with it.

I blended out my liner shadow just a bit so that it wouldn't be such a harsh line and then I brought Un-Veil under my eye, as well.

I curled my lashes and put on my mascara. I've been curling my lashes recently because the lashes on the outside corner of my left eye have been extra droopy recently and it has been driving me insane!

I did a very small amount of contouring with my bronzer, just enough to warm my face up a bit. I took Luminoso and applied that the bottom of the apples of my cheeks and then brushed it backward toward my hair line. I applied the pink blush just to the apples of my cheeks and then my highlight on my forehead, bridge of my nose, and tops of my cheekbones. I like applying two different color blushes for a multi-dimensional look and with these two blushes, it still looks natural.

I lined my lips with Tawny and then applied the Rimmel lipstick. I'm not a huge fan of lip brushes and use them sparingly, so with nudes and pinks, I typically smudge them into my lips with my fingers.

And there's the completed look! You still get to use your makeup, but you look professional and office friendly. I kind of feel like this is a head shot for a newscaster... just me?
